Yes, Kiddies it's Friday The 13th!!

But am I scared, no not really. Not more than usual. I'm more scared of breaking a hip on any other day than I am of Friday the 13th. I've done some searching on the 'net looking for why Friday the 13th is considered bad. I've found a few sites that speak of the origins of it but nothing too exciting. They are generally long and drawn out myths and legends from the 18th Century (why not the 13th Century?)

Here's an interesting tid-bit...they actually have a name for those who are afraid of this day and it's called Paraskevidekatriaphobia: Fear of Friday the 13th. Don't ask me to pronounce it, because I've tried. Maybe I'd have a better chance with a mouth full of Oreo cookies.

If you want to know what day really freaks me out it is Monday's. I don't care what date a Monday falls on, it's the simple fact that it means my weekend is over and it's time to go back to work. Don't get me wrong, I like my job I really do but there are some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed (can I get an AMEN?)

Here's a link for some extra curricular reading if you chose do to so. Urban Legends and a bunch of other crap.

At any rate I hope everyone has an uneventful Friday the 13th...hey I gotta go, I think Jason is knocking on the door.

Ah...the youth of today

Do you smell roasted nuts? Wait for it...wait for it...there it is. I weep for the future, it's kids like these that will be paying for my Social Security retirement, not bloody likely. You want fries with that?

Drop the puck!

Well Hockey fans it's that time again, time to lace up the skates and drop the biscuit. GAME ON! So far the Avs are 3 games into the season with one win. And the other two losses were in OT. So far the Avs look good, but they need to keep the pressure on for the full 60 minutes if they are going to win the game. I honestly can say that the goal tending has been the saving grace. We took another hit this year by losing Tanguay and Blake and now we lose Konowalchuk to heart problems. Everything is still dollars and cents, and how you manage your roster with the funds you have. I miss the days of the dream team with Sakic, Forsberg, Hedjuk, and Roy. Now that the playing field is level, there's no telling who will go to the playoffs. It all makes for an interesting game, but the games were a lot more fun to watch when you have a few Ace's up your sleeve.

What's wrong? I'll Tell you what's WRONG!

This world is going to hell in a hand-basket!! All these school shootings (very close to home), Terrorist plots, Nuclear weapons, E-coli, etc. Back in the day life was not as complicated. A typical day of the teenager was to get up, go to school, hang with your friends, and wonder where the party was going to be this weekend. What has changed so much in the last 10-15 years? Granted there were problems back then that I really didn't care about to notice but sheeesh! Maybe it's time for America, hell the whole world to unplug and enjoy life. We should have a day that everyone shuts off the computer, TV, cell phone, iPod, and just enjoy life as it comes. Seems like everyone is going postal. I'm about ready to retreat to the mountains, and leave the rest of the world to fend for themselves.

Note to World: Lighten up. ;0)
